A Lifehacker's Simple Path To Losing 100 Pounds

In less than one year, Lifehacker's Dion Almaer lost 100 pounds. In an obese body, it's difficult to stay on a diet or exercise plan. Instead, Almaer took a simpler path to drop 1/3 of his body size. He didn't start with working out or slimming down his meals - he started by eating quality food.

Better food kicked off his journey. With eating better only, he lost 20 pounds in his first 2 weeks. That critical step restored his energy levels. Dieting and working out then came easy.

It's simple logic. We're spoiled - in a bad way. Processed junk is sold to us in convenient packages, with low quality ingredients and high concentrations.

We may be tricked by such convenience, but our bodies aren't. It won't be long until our bodies realize. And then, we're hungry more often and eat more. Without nutritional balance and too many calories, we feel tired easily and start losing motivation to work out. We quickly descend into a vicious cycle. We become fat.

Ok, at a first glance, fast food may be cheaper and faster. But, you eat less frequently when you eat real food. And, you waste less on energy potions, self help books, and medical bills. Plus, good food gives back the health and wellness you deserve.

Lots of people can't get over the psychology of eating weird foods like tongue or liver. But, they eat sausages made from these animal bits everyday! If you're adventurous, you can get meat at 1/10 the price. And, there are plenty of great exotic cut recipes.

Use a food scale to save time and money. You clean fewer dishes by measuring out all your ingredients in a single bowl. Plus, you don't waste foods that get stuck to measuring cups and spoons. This waste may seem small, but it adds up.

Eating better isn't as simple as punching a couple buttons on a vending machine, but spending on good food will pay you and your family back in many folds. Break the cycle, start eating better today!
